"We just wanted to let you know how wonderful your program was last night, Aug 14, with the Roach Dancers and Mr. Sandoval. We are staying at my sister's summer home for 4 days and this seemed like a pleasant diversion during our vacation. Instead it turned into the highlight of it. The dancers were wonderful and we all especially enjoyed their narrative so we could understand the different dances and their stories about their backgrounds. Overall we felt very grateful that they were willing to share their culture with us like that. The Code talkers have been of interest to our family since we first heard about them while driving through Kayenta several years ago. On that trip I read a book we found about Code talkers to my young sons on the way home in the car. So the opportunity to see a Codetalker in person was really exciting. It was so much more than we could have imagined it would be. Please thank Mr. Sandoval for sharing such personal insights into his childhood, his grandfather, as well as his experiences in the military and a Codetalker. There was no way to convey to him adequately last night our thanks for his glimpse into history. Having a book signed by him is incredible. Best of all was that one son was with us on his summer break from college. He had a friend with him from Southern California who had never been to Colorado before. What a wonderful education for him and us in such an enjoyable way. I wish I was a millionaire and could leave you guys an endowment. Keep up your good work and thanks so much for the experience."
